Paul Kievit

Paul is an experienced business leader and technology strategist with more than 25 years of global and regional management experience. He has successfully built ICT companies and led them to sustainable growth, holding senior leadership positions at ICT multinationals in Europe, the US, Latin America, Japan and the Far East. In doing so, he has driven existing business transformation, developed new business models and led mergers and acquisitions and strategic partnerships.

After graduating from the Royal Military Academy (KMA), Paul became a professional officer. During this period, he developed his leadership skills and developed his passion for leading edge technology and innovation.

After his military career, Paul made the transition to industry, where he ended up at Radio Holland Electronics. His knowledge of defence needs from the field enabled him to make a valuable contribution here in fulfilling requirements from The Hague. For instance, he was one of the first to introduce the Global Positioning System (GPS) within the defence organisation. His expertise then led him to Getronics, Lucent Technologies, Avaya and later to Philips, among others, where he played an important role in a joint venture in telecommunications with Japan's NEC, where he was appointed CEO.  As one of the first non-Japanese executives within NEC, he was ultimately responsible for NEC's Enterprise IT and telecommunications segment in Europe, North America and Latin America. With his ability to adapt to different cultures, he was instrumental in the division's global expansion within 72 countries. As an executive, Paul played a crucial role in the technology transition from digital to IP and cloud software products and services within the global organisation.
Partly as a result of his international experience, Paul has developed a passion for travel. He loves the mountains, while skiing or hiking, and is a wine connoisseur. He also enjoys following developments in motorsport.
