During his studies, Mateo did a board year as a consultant where he conducted both desk and field research for a company pursuing international growth. In his second board year, he held the position of sales manager, liaising with both existing and potential clients for events. In addition, he gained experience as a working student at an economic research firm.

In his spare time, Mateo enjoys playing football and other sports, and he also serves as a football coach.
