- Network Expansion: Grow and strengthen the international dealer network to increase global market share. Leading by example, executing this aspect as well as coaching the salesforce.
- Organizational change: Managing Country Managers within all regions besides the Netherlands, to form a group strategy, supporting decentralized initiatives, continuously improving tools (Sales Force), templates and way of working.
- Strategic Leadership: Translate and execute the global sales strategy to achieve ambitious growth objectives.
- Team Inspiration: Lead, coach, and motivate Country Managers and specialists to maximize their potential.
- Market-Oriented Approach: Proactively respond to market developments and opportunities in modularity and sustainability.
- Innovation & Product Introduction: Collaborate with R&D, sales, and marketing to successfully launch groundbreaking products.

In 2023, Maars Living Walls was acquired by the Dutch investment firm Nimbus, together with Maars' management and a Maars dealer. Previously, the company was owned by global furniture company MillerKnoll, a select group of MillerKnoll dealers, and Maars’ management. The acquisition by Nimbus aims to support and expand Maars’ international strategy, with a focus on growth, new product development, and operational improvements. Business development activities, such as targeted acquisitions and investments in the state of the art production facility have already have been executed and remains a key pillar of growth going forward. To support and execute this strategy, Maars is looking for an International Sales Director as part of the Maars management team.
Job requirements
You are a (key account) deal maker and authentic leader with an extensive international sales background. You know how to manage international customers (e.g. dealers) and (virtual) teams, taking cultural differences and nuances into consideration, optimising the overall sales workforce and attending individual needs. A get it done mentality is something that speaks to you, being able to conceptualise and execute, with a good balance between the focus on people and results. You recognise yourself in the following attributes:
- An academic mindset and strategic insight: you have a bachelor or master’s degree, ideally within the field of economics or business administration.
- Extensive experience in the construction sector or a related industry, preferably as a Commercial Manager in a project-based company. Key account development experience is a plus.
- Energetic, results-driven, and exude leadership in a direct, no-nonsense environment.
- Creative and solution-oriented, being able to convincingly communicate your ideas.
- Conceptual and analytical abilities.
- Experience in a production environment, always striving for improvement.
- An authentic and natural connector with excellent communication skills and a pragmatic, entrepreneurial approach.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch and German is a plus.
- Willing to travel to all regions whenever necessary (approximately 30%).

- A gross monthly salary between € 9.259 - € 10.802 (based on 40 hours).
- Holiday allowance and OTE bonus of 15% minimum.
- 27 vacation days, with another extra 4 ADV days (depending on your country of residence).
