Head of Business Control for NEM Energy

YESS Boer & Croon is hiring an ambitious Head of Business Control for NEM Energy. You will work in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment to establish a new role, aimed at setting up and shaping the group-wide business and management reporting framework, as well as managing two teams of FP&A and Project Control professionals .

Job description

The Position
  • The Head of Business Control Manager will drive the success of NEM Energy Group with a focus on growth, performance improvements and business consolidation. He/she (hereafter referred to as he) will take ownership of the financial management reporting model which forms the basis of the montly report to the MT and shareholder.
  • Together with the CFO, the Finance team, and line management, the Head of Business Control will analyze and challenge the results, develop accurate budgets and forecasts, and support with business decisions. He will be in control of the liquidity forecast and support with business decisions. He will be in control of the liquidity forecasts and support the CFO to optimize the funding structure of the group.
  • The Head of Business Control will have a strong focus on developing clear reports and KPI dashboards which are available to the business through reporting tools like Power BI.
  • In this new role, the Head of Business Control will set up and shape the group-wide business and management reporting framework. He will also be actively involved with, or coordinating multiple improvement initiatives related to ERP migrations, reporting tooling, data management and financial modelling. 

The key responsibilities ot the Head of Business Control will be:
  • Drive the financial management reporting model including the forecast of the group which forms the basis of the monthly report to the board and shareholder
  • Run the weekly (13-weeks) and long term (12 month) liquidity planning
  • Develop, implement and improve reports and KPI’s in Excel and Power BI which support the business achieving their goals
  • Support management with financial analysis, developing business models, M&A and PMI activities, identifying needs and funding solutions

Job requirements

Background and experience

  • Completed university education (i.e. in Economics, Finance or Business Administration), preferably with post-master Qualification (RC/CMA);
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in financial and analytical management functions as well as experience in business control and project control. 
  • Experience at a ‘big four’ accounting, consulting or corporate finance firm or bank is a plus
  • Strong focus on automation and implementation of reporting tools (like Power BI);
  • Experience with SAP and PowerQuery are a must and Power BI is a big plus;
  • Experience with building group reporting models; IFRS and Dutch GAAP knowledge is preferred, but not strictly required;
  • Experience with PE owned companies is preferred, but not strictly required.

  • Organization sensitivity;
  • Excellent analytical, financial modelling and reporting skills;
  • Business sense and focus on improving performance (identifying issues, developing KPIs);
  • Communicative skills (partner in business, getting the message across); 
  • Affinity to the industry/OEM in which NEM is active.
