As Director of Strategy & Transformation, you can use your expertise to play a core role in realising the OV 2030 ambitions.

About the position
The position of Director of Strategy & Transformation is twofold:
  1. You will lead external strategy and transformation projects.
    In this role, you will lead strategic transformation projects in the OV sector and be responsible for achieving the results. These projects in the OV sector range from assignments around strategy implementation, portfolio management, asset management, and complex project/programme/change management to specific sector-related cases such as energy in OV, digitalisation (ATO, ERTMS, AI ed.), chain cooperation, and the tight labour market.

    The assignments usually last three to six months and are carried out individually or in teams, often on-site at the client's premises. For example, In a team, you work with several Young Executives, a (Senior) Manager or an experienced Interim Manager. The Boer & Croon network is always available for specialist knowledge or to spar with a skilled expert.
     
  2. You will help build the Strategy & Transformation Solution
    Besides leading projects, you have an active role in building our practice and a commercial responsibility. This includes further developing and marketing our proposition with the team, expanding your network in the OV sector and participating in discussions with our (potential) clients. You will further develop your area of expertise by building up knowledge (together with the team) that aligns with market needs. Finally, you contribute to the further professionalisation and growth of our team.

The Strategy & Transformation Solution is part of the Boer & Croon community. This community consists of our team, C-level sector experts, and experienced strategy & transformation consultants. From this community, we support directors of organisations in developing and implementing strategies for complex management issues and help them realise their objectives and transformations not only by writing reports but also by helping to build organisations. We co-create from the inside out; we involve the people and use the knowledge already there, supplemented with the right expertise from Boer & Croon.

Within our team, we are currently developing propositions for various market segments, with one of the main focus areas being the public transport sector and related infrastructure. This includes themes such as expansion and maintenance of rail infrastructure for train, tram, and metro, (solutions for) future network congestion public transport, making transport modes more sustainable (including zero-emission buses), robust business management and operations and related (strategic and operational) organisational improvements, lifting, and taking ownership as the lead of the public transport sector. 

Job requirements

Education and experience

  • A university education, ideally in a (technical) managerial/business or economic direction.
  • 7-10 years of accumulated substantive expertise in the field of transitions or asset management and a network within the public transport and infrastructure sector, of which 5-7 years of working experience as a consultant within the public transport or (rail) infrastructure domain.
  • Your experience in leading teams within projects and/or programmes is a key aspect of your profile, and we value the leadership skills you've developed.
