As Director of Strategy & Transformation, you can play a core role in accelerating the energy transition with your expertise.

The position
The position of Director of Strategy & Transformation is twofold: 
  1. You will lead external strategy and transformation projects
    As Director of Strategy and transformation, you will lead strategic transformation projects in the energy sector and be responsible for achieving results. These projects range from assignments around strategy implementation, portfolio management, and complex project/programme management to specific sector-related cases such as congestion management.

    The assignments typically have a duration of three to six months and are carried out individually or in teams, often on client sites. In a team, for example, you work collaboratively with several Young Executives, a (Senior) Manager or an experienced Interim Manager. The Boer & Croon network is always at your disposal for specialist knowledge or to spar with an experienced expert, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
     
  2. You will help build the Strategy & Transformation team
    Besides leading substantive strategic transformation assignments for clients around the energy transition and managing team members, you also have an active role and commercial responsibility in expanding our practice. You will have the scope to develop and market the proposition further with us. This includes increasing your network in the energy sector and participating in discussions with our (potential) clients. You will further develop your area of expertise by building up knowledge (together with the team) that aligns with market needs. Finally, you contribute to the further professionalisation and growth of our team.

Strategy & Transformation is part of the Boer & Croon community. This community comprises our team, C-level sector experts, and experienced strategy and transformation consultants. From this community, we support organisational directors in developing and implementing strategies for complex management issues and help them realise their objectives and transformations, not only by writing reports but also by helping to build organisations. We co-create from the inside out; we involve the people and use the knowledge already there, supplemented with the right expertise from Boer & Croon.

Within Strategy & Transformation, we are currently developing propositions for various market segments, with one of the main focus areas being the energy sector. Think about themes such as expanding (electricity and hydrogen) infrastructure, (solving) grid congestion, making industry and business more sustainable (including ESG strategy) and related (strategic and operational) organisational improvements, lifting, and taking ownership as the lead of the energy sector.

Job requirements

Education and experience

  • A university education, ideally in a business or economics discipline.
  • 7-10 years of accumulated substantive expertise in the field of energy transition and a network within the energy sector, of which 5-7 years of working experience as a consultant within the energy domain.
  • Experience in leading teams within projects and/or programmes.

  • Business Development: Skilled at creating and maintaining relationships and assignments.
  • Fluent Dutch is a requirement.
